In a recent post I talked about developer podcasts you can listen to, you can find this here.
So my idea here is to give you guys and girls developer tips I have gleaned from my time learning as a developer
1. Start with a friendly language
In the beginning you want to be getting to know the basics, so logically you should be sticking with a language that is easy to grasp and build upon. The last thing you want to be worrying about is memory allocation or linked lists when you are struggling with a for loop! Here are some easier languages to begin with:
Everyone has there preference but these languages are easier to pick up.
2. Buy Content
I know, why would you buy content when the internet has all these free resources to learn?
You were learn a lot more quickly and to a higher standard if you intelligently invest in high quality learning material. For one, You can look at other student ratings to invest in a good course were you learn vastly. Secondly, you won’t have to spend time looking for pt 72 of php tables, All of the content will be readily available to you. Lastly the instructor will likely be of better quality (most but there are exceptions) if their job is to teach. Udemy for example can be a great place to learn how to code.
3. Build Real projects
If you have learned these skills it is important to apply them to some practical projects. This will help you collate your learning. It will also look good having real projects to show off to employers/clients. They can be small projects don’t worry about how ambitious they are!
Thanks for listening people!
